Gray’s Hut

Experience two of the most popular 14ers in Colorado - Gray’s and Torrey’s. The two peaks are connected by a saddle about three-quarters mile distance making it accessible for avid hikers to conquer two 14ers in one day. The rugged mountain terrain also attracts outdoor enthusiasts such as mountain bikers, hikers, backpackers, back-country skiers and more.

Gray’s hut was originally built in 1958 surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and just a short hike to the Gray’s and Torrye’s trail head. Experience the great outdoors in this quiet and cozy cabin.

In winter months, it is a 3 mile, 1600’ elevation gain, ski or hike into the cabin.

We need your help to make it happen!

Our Vision

To plan, build and sustain a system of mountain huts for public use, within the alpine environment of the upper Clear Creek watershed.

Our Plan

We are in the planning process of developing our next huts. We have several other hut sites and will be seeking volunteers at a later date.

Your Help

With your volunteer help, we can develop a hut system that will provide access to the great outdoors.

Your Adventure

By helping us make our vision come to life, we will be returning the favor to all volunteers by including you in social events, work events, and future hut stays.
