Hut Etiquette

We are excited to have you be part of the Gray’s and Torrey’s Huts experience. We have many people come to the huts to enjoy the vast activities the mountains have to offer or for a quiet little get away. We ask that you be mindful of the cabins and the people around you. Please use common sense and follow the hut etiquette below to ensure you and all other guests have a memorable experience.

The Hut

  • Check in and check out time is 1pm.

  • All guests are required to submit liability release to use the hut (see below).

  • You are renting the entire hut.

  • Please use cautions when using wood stove ! Do not stack wood next to stove !

  • Respect outdoor fire bans.

  • Don’t leave food outside due to foxes and marmots.

  • There is a spring for water that runs year round (directions to the spring will be provided on confirmation).

  • In winter you may need to use snowmelt (snow melt pots provided).

Health and Covid

  • There is bleach to spray down surfaces.

  • We try to change sheets between every party, however, there are clean sheets and pillowcases under the SW bed. Dirty linens go in the barrel in the toilet building.

  • Because we use snow-melt for water, please use toilets at all times.

  • We recommend that you boil snow-melt water if used for cooking or drinking.

  • Dish washing: Start with hot soapy water, using 1/2 cap bleach in final rinse.

Checkout

  • Leave the cabin as you found it.

  • Clean kitchen and sweep floors.

  • Pack it out ! Take trash and recycling with you.

  • Turn off light switches and turn off propane tanks.

  • Restock wood and prep new fire. Ash goes in the ash barrel on the deck.
